"Je vois la vie en rose..."
A little bit of green
After a long, cold, white winter, spring is here at last.
The birds are singing, the grass is growing, the sun is shining, the flowers are appearing.
Spring is here, the best time of the year.
Of late Athens has been a lot in the news and when a city is constantly in the news, it’s not good news.
Financial crisis, unemployment, riots, illegal emigrants, strikes, all this painted a very gloomy picture of the city.
Venice, July the 10th
This is from my diary. I went to Venice as a student with two friends and now it seems as if this happened one thousand years ago.
Venice, July the 9th
I have wanted to visit the city of Marburg for a long time and finally I managed to do so on a gloriously sunny September day. Taking a train from Frankfurt, I got there at noon.
My first impression of a dirty central train station undergoing repair and expansion works, wasn’t great but I took a bus uphill and everything looked much better.
Well, 10 are not enough I thought as soon as I finished the previous post. Realizing that I left out some very important places and monuments, I’m now adding them in haste:
1.Pao de Acucar or Sugarloaf Mountain. The famous statue of Jesus Christ over the city of Rio de Janeiro. An incredible view from a peak that can be reached by taking two cable cars.
2.Great Wall of China. Guide books always mention that it is the only man-made work that can be seen from the moon. Undoubtedly the most famous touristic site in this huge country.
